About the New England
About Algonquin Archers Founded in 1957, Algonquin Archers Inc. Is one of the oldest archery clubs in New England. We are a non-profit organization created for the enjoyment and advancement of archery in all its forms. The club grounds cover more than 20 wooded acres and include a clubhouse, pavilion, a practice range, and both 3D and field archery courses, In addition to public archery events, the club hosts an annual game dinner and a summer archery league. Always supportive of educational activities, the club makes its facilities available for CT Bowhunter Safety Courses and youth archery programs. The club is located at 6 Quanopaug Trail, just off Route 6
The New England Primitive Skills Gathering was founded in 2003 when Jamie Leffler and Will Sampson decided to share their enthusiasm for primitive archery, handcrafts, woodlore, andprimitive skills. The idea was to create and event that would be as much fun as educational. From the beginning it was designed to be more about sharing skills than formal academics. This is mostly a volunteer labor of love from all of the instructors and Algonquin Archers members who invest many hours to make it happen. We hope you enjoy the gathering and come back to share more skills.
